Authentic fish scales were applied to this highly textural work on wood. A look at both land and sea as a green-backed sparrow emerges near a nest. This piece draws from a scriptural reference in the gospels about God’s extended care to the tiniest of creatures. Birds, seas, fish. Living while sometimes drowning, skies above and fish below. Every busy bird needs a true source and God loves us all. The fish scales were left over from a previous project and they fit nicely in this story.
