”Light To My Path” is a commission painting for the Spring 2021 magazine cover of The Truly Co, a faith-filled resource and collective for women. The team at Truly selected a color palette and asked me to paint with whatever wild expression came to mind. Intentionality was the theme and brought to my mind an idea of a centralized, hopeful light, drawing on familiar concepts found in Psalm 119 - Your Word Is a Lamp to My Feet. In those texts you sense clear direction is given while still allowing for plenty of breathing room. This work mirrors that feeling with a large brightness in the middle, central but flowing while pockets of darkness remain contained on the edges.
